Why goats?

In Japan, there is a story about goats that like to eat paper. Since there are a lot of bad things (negativity) written on paper like bad news, bad documents, etc., we hope all the goats in the world will eat up all the paper containing negativity and only the good and positive will remain and we will have “love and goodness” left in the world. And above all, I think goats are a symbol of diversity worldwide as they differ in color and size, and ‘strive’ to get along.

なぜヤギでしょうか？

日本には、ヤギは紙を食べるという言い伝えがあります。悪い知らせや悪い書類など、ネガティブなことがたくさん書かれている紙やe-mailを世界中のヤギが全部食べてくれ、良いこと、ポジティブなことだけが残り、「愛と善」が世界に残るようにと願っています。
そして何より、ヤギは色も大きさもそれぞれ異っており、それぞれが仲良くしようと「努力」する、多様性の象徴だと思い、描き続けています。

Biography ・ Awards

1971: Born in Tokyo, Japan
2003: A Student majoring in painting, attended the College of Fine Arts at Hong ik University, Seoul, South Korea
2005: Awarded the excellent student scholarship in the College of Fine Arts
: Studied at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, ENSBA, Paris, France as an exchange student
2006: Awarded a scholarship by the South Korea-Japan Cultural Association
2007: Graduated from College of Fine Arts at Hong ik University, Seoul, South Korea
: Mar.16. Provided artwork to Godiego, a Japanese rock band, at Tokyo Shin-Soseiki Concert, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space
2008: Jan.30. - Feb.11. Held first solo exhibition at Gallery Tokyo Eizo, Azabu-juban, Tokyo
2010: Selected for entry to the Modern ART exhibition
2015: Received the Excellence Prize Modern ART exhibition
